Artists, and society, are always complaining about something. And I find it's generally the privileged that complain the most. So I, and a fellow artist, created this installation together, complaining about complaining. We were both from poor families, could not afford art school and had to do everything for ourselves, and we loved it. We wanted to show that we were perfectly content with our lives, and the world that everyone thinks is so terrible. Wo we included a lot of pink, purple, vibrant images, as well as slightly disturbing pieces. We hung all of our current work on battered walls as if in a grungy gallery. We made a lamp out of a snake skin. We projected images on the exterior, which was plastered with papers that say "i am content." We had Black Dice, a noise band, pulsing throughout. We basically created our ideal world, which we wanted to share with others, to show them that things don't have to be candy-coated.
